A secret hack on fighting toll charges if you are renting a car in Orlando!

  • Posted on
Florida’s most extensive toll-road network is in and around Orlando. It’s next to impossible to leave the airport without encountering a toll road, since the two main expressways from the airport are tolled. The main highway out to the Space Coast has a toll, so do the two major north-south alternatives to the often-congested Interstate 4.

If you plan on doing a fair amount of driving in Florida, it's very likely that you’ll be running into a toll road. While it’s technically possible to drive around Florida without paying any tolls with map apps on your phones, this could drastically increase your travel time just driving around. If you avoid tolls from Orlando International Airport to Disney World’s Epcot, it literally doubles what would otherwise have been a 25-minute drive!  Just look at the time difference on a regular afternoon from EIR Fun House to Kennedy Space Center:
